Welcome to NWCIM – 2017
National Workshop on Computational & Industrial Mathematics

Aim and Objectives of the workshop

This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive theoretical and hand on practical expericence on MATHEMATICAL TOOLS AND LATEX for research scholars. Matlab/ Mathematica/ Maple/ Lingo/ Gams are the most popular software for quantitative analysis. It integrates computation, visualization, and programmig in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notations. Typical use includes:

  • Mathematics and Mathematical Computations
  • Algorithm Development
  • Modeling, Simulation and Prototyping
  • Data Analysis, Exploration and Visualization
  • Scientific and Engineering Graphics
  • Application Development including Graphical User Interface Building

Latex is a document preparation system for high quality and scientific typesetting, which is preferably used for technical/ scientific paper writing
for journals by researchers, engineers and mathematicians at large. The type setting system offers programmable writing features and extensive facilities for automating most aspects of typesetting.

Latex is a document preparation system for high quality and scientific typesetting, which is preferably used for technical/ scientific paper writing

Some useful features of Latex are:
Typesetting of journal articles, technical reports, thesis, books, and slide presentations, Control over large documents containing sectioning, cross- references, tables, and figures, Typesetting of complex mathematical formulae, Advanced typesetting of Mathematics with AMS-LATEX,
Automatic generation of table of contents, bibiliography, and index.
