The 29th All India Bar Council of India Moot Court Competition, 2013 was organized by the MITS University, Rajasthan, from 13th-15th September 2013. A total of forty teams participated in it. Utkarsh Roy, KIIT Alumnus receiving the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award 2013 at the University of Toronto. KIIT Student Becomes First Chess Grand Master from Odisha - Kiran Manisha Mohanty, a student of KIIT University, became the first person from Odisha to become a Grandmaster. She earned her third Woman Grandmaster Norm at the Parachute Advanced International Chess Tournament in Bangladesh. Kiran Manisha Mohanty is pursuing BTech degree in KIIT University. She is the first in both women's and men's section in Odisha to become a Grandmaster.
