DESCRIPTION:TECHNICAL SESSION ON “HEAT TREATMENT OF PRESSURE VESSELS – METALLURGICAL ASPECT & EFFECT\, ASME CODE REQUIREMENTS AND INDUSRTIAL APPLICATIONS”  \nCONDUCTED BY : School of Mechanical Engineering Date : 18th November 2022 \nAbout the ConferenceHeat Treatment is a critical operation in the fabrication industry. Right from raw materials\, forming of sub components\, final machining and welding operations\, heat treatment is required in most of the cases to achieve desired properties\, restore original properties and relieving stresses. Since high temperature is involved the right choice of heat treatment method\, heat treatment cycle\, operation sequence\, loading and unloading in/from furnace\, supports and fixtures to allow expansion and contraction and prevent distortion are critical parameters to define. \nThis session will discuss and provide an overview of heat treatment objectives\, various methods of heat treatment\, metallurgical effects; ASME codes requirements to meet construction code requirements\, various equipments and instruments to conduct heat treatment\, precautions to be taken for conducting successful heat treatment without any deviation and failure. \nAbout the SchoolThe school of mechanical engineering\, KIIT possesses highly qualified and experienced faculty member from various reputed IITs\, NITs and other reputed institution .The current consultancy and research & development areas of the school include jet and spray impingement heat transfer droplet and spray combustion\, computational fluid dynamic\, mechanical system design & optimization\, biomass & biofuels (synthesis\, analysis & optimization)\, vibration &machine condition monitoring\, meta machining \,metal matrix /polymer matrix composite (fabrication & characterization )\, metal forming. \nDownload Flyer
