SUMMARY:International Webinar on "Advances in Optimization Techniques"
DESCRIPTION:About the Webinar \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe major objective of the webinar is to encourage the participation of the researchers\, academicians and students working in the field of optimization to exchange and enhance their ideas about the recent developments in the frontier areas of optimization. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Department of Mathematics \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Department of Mathematics is a part of School of Applied Sciences (SAS)\, KIIT Deemed to be University. Apart from teaching in various U.G. and P.G. programme of Engineering\, the Department is principally engaged in research over various disciplines like Pure\, Applied and Industrial Mathematics. In context of research\, the Department has a few research projects funded by the agencies like DST\, NBHM\, UGC and CSIR. The Department has also produced several Ph.D. and some are under progress. In addition\, it has recently started Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Mathematics with Data Science from the current session 2020-2021. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout KIIT Deemed to be University \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was started as a humble college in 1992\, has become a multidisciplinary University with 28 constituent schools offering diverse programs. Its commitment to teaching excellence led to the grant of University status under section 3 of UGC Act\, 1956 in 2004 and ‘A’ category university in 2015 by the ministry of Human Resources Development \, Government of India. It has also been accredited ‘A’ Grade by NAAC and Tier ‘1’ (Washington Accord) by NBA and IET (UK). KIIT has been listed in Times of World ranking and is one among the best Universities/Institutions in NIRF ranking by MHRD\, Government of India. It has proved itself to be the much sought after higher education center of the country with 30\,000 students pursuing both graduation and post graduation studies in Engineering\, Computer application\, Management\, Law\, Biotechnology\, Medicine\, Dentistry\, Nursing\, Fashion Technology\, Mass Media Studies\, Language etc. KIIT stand out as a class of its own both in quality and quantity. It has been adjudged as an Institute of Eminence in 2019 by MHRD GoI and 1st rank holder among the private higher education India Universities according to ARIIA-2020. Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS)\, a sister institute of KIIT provides free education in a residential setting to 30000 tribal children from KG to PG is also a Deemed to be University and has obtained recognition and appreciation world-wide including the UN. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInvited Speakers \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProf. Xin-She Yang\, Department of Design Engineering and Mathematics\, Middlesex University\, London\, UK. \nProf. Jagdish Chand Bansal\, Department of Mathematics\, South Asian University\, New Delhi\, India \nProf. V Vetrivel\, Department of Mathematics\, Indian Institute of Technology Madras\, India \nProf. Pitam Singh\, Department of Mathematics\, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT\, Allahabad)\, Prayagraj\, India \nProf. Chandal Nahak\, Department of Mathematics\, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur\, India \nProf. Akshay Kumar Ojha\, Department of Mathematics\, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar\, India \nProf. Kedar Nath Das\, Department of Mathematics\, National Institute of Technology Silchar\, Assam\, India \nProf. Geetanjali Panda\, Department of Mathematics\, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur\, India \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor more information: \nDr. Suvasis Nayak (Convener)\, Mob: +91 7008490517 \nDr. Narmada Behera (Co-Convener)\, Mob: +91 9668236410 \nDr. Rajashree Mishra (Co-Convener)\, Mob: +91 8328959646 \nEmail: 2020iwaot@gmail.com \nDepartment of Mathematics\, School of Applied Sciences\,\nKIIT Deemed to be University\, Bhubaneswar -751024\, Odisha\, India. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDownload BrochureRegister Now

SUMMARY:International Conference On Sustainability and Equity : Digital Society
DESCRIPTION:International Conference On\n Sustainability and Equity : Digital Society\nTheme of the Conference: Digital Society\nIn contemporary modern world\, sustainability is a major concern for human being. Both history and literature indicate that human being has been doing activities those challenge its own existence survival\, and sustainability. Challenges such as climate change\, global warming\, resource scarcity\, increasing inequity\, social cleavages\, decreasing biodiversity and an ever increasing resource-rich lifestyle (Lorek & Fuchs\, 2011) have been challenging the human civilization’s sustainability. Sustainability can be explained as how natural systems function\, and produce everything that meet the needs of the current generation users without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs\, while keeping the system remain in balance. Sustainability takes into account how we need to live in synchronization with the natural world around us. In the contemporary world\, humanity uses about 40% more resources than nature can regenerate in a year (Global Footprint Network\, 2010). At some day\, the human civilization might be without its essential resources to survive and continue. These resources need to be optimally used and regenerated at the same rate as the rate of consumption or exhaustion. Not only the use of resources\, but also every activity\, practice\, technology\, and infrastructure has to be sustainable. Sustainability relates to equity. We can not have one without the other. Equity is about fairness among all. Inter generational equity i.e. a reasonable balance between satisfying our needs now and keeping and saving enough to provide for needs of the future generations is critical for sustainability. Furthermore\, for sustainability\, equity across forms of life such as humans and non-humans is as essential as equity across generations of human life. \nRead More
