SUMMARY:National Rural Management Conclave on Sustainable Development Rural Finance
DESCRIPTION:Gandhiji in early 20th Century told that “The soul of India lives in its villages”. Over the years\, different development policies and programmes have brought a significant change in the life and the livelihoods of people in rural India. However\, the rural-urban divide in socio-economic conditions of people has been increasingly noticed. Interventions in rural contexts are still lacking innovation and collaboration. Adaptation of technology\, improvement of skill matching to the need of the emerging market and cost-effectiveness in managing credit continue to be the grey areas in rural India. Managing development in this context links to multiple dimensions including education\, health\, environment\, disasters\, skill\, livelihoods and finance. Moreover\, rural professionals get further challenged with uncertainty and risk aversiveness. \nRead More

SUMMARY:10th National Marketing Conclave on Delivering Customer Value Proposition through Marketing Analytics
DESCRIPTION:Overview of Theme: \nToday’s consumer landscape and the larger global market are increasingly diverse. With prospects spread across various socioeconomic\, geographic\, and ethnic areas\, understanding these differences is critical to successfully reaching your targeted customer in a meaningful way. However\, recognizing these differences to fine tune your offerings is the call of the day. \nWith more and more information flooding consumers every hour of the day\, your customers are growing less tolerant of brands who misunderstand their needs and wants. When paired with the diversity of consumer set\, understanding unique consumer needs is even more challenging. \nAll customers are not alike. Focusing on these consumers at the individual level allows you to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the market and those you’re trying to target. This approach also helps you assess the value you provide to the customer rather than simply assessing the value of the consumer. \nMarketing analytics is fundamentally changing both business and consumer marketing across the customer life cycle. It is transforming the focus from products and channels to a focus on the customer. Marketing analytics is used to improve strategies to acquire new customers\, to grow customer lifetime value\, and to retain more customers over time. \nAbout the Conclave\nThe Marketing Conclave is an annual convention\, organised by KIIT School of Management (KSOM)\, and attended by industry leaders from the marketing world as well as academicians from prestigious institutes. \nVisit Website

SUMMARY:Revitalization of Indigenous Languages : Issues and Challenges
DESCRIPTION:About the ConferenceAccording to the survey data from UNESCO\, 1635 native languages (of which about 197 are classified as between endangered and vulnerable) are spoken in India by indigenous people\, which represent 8.6% of the total population. In the changing scenario of the imbalanced interaction between ecology and survival\, a pressing concern towards language extinction and possible loss of custom\, tradition\, prescription and prohibition associated with the language\, has also emerged. UN Resolution A/RES/61/266\, Articles 29 and 30 of Indian constitution seek the preservation and protection of all languages and linguistic empowerment. In spite of the mandates\, some of the indigenous languages are at threshold of extinction. There is a necessity to assess the efforts\, strategies and policies towards the preservation and protection of endangered languages. The conference will explore various domains of language revitalization. The broad objective of the conference is to develop a framework for language policy to protect and preserve endangered languages in India. \nAbstract SubmissionThe abstract should not exceed 600 words and list four to five keywords that describe the context of the research. The topic chosen should be in relation to themes and sub-themes of the conference and needs to be formatted in Times New Roman\, font size 12. \nSubmissions to be made through rilconf@gmail.com. The papers found suitable will be called for post-conference proceeding. \nPublicationSelected papers will be considered for publication in an edited volume\, in which Springer has expressed an interest\, subject to the usual double blind peer review. The full paper is expected to be between 6\,000-7\,000 words. \nImportant DatesSubmission for Abstract\n30th April\, 2019 \nNotification of Acceptance of Abstract\n10th May\, 2019 \nSubmission of the full paper\n30th May\, 2019 \nSubmission of Camera Ready paper\n25th June\, 2019. \nRegistration\nLatest by 5th June\, 2019

SUMMARY:South Asia Communication Conference on Media Portrayal of the Marginalised Communities
DESCRIPTION:Media is a mirror to society and a representation of reality i.e. it is recreation of the real world. In Newspapers\, Magazines\, Radio\, Television\, Online\, Films\, Advertisements etc. the society is reflected. This media portrayal shows the different facets of society like social mores\, norms\, culture\, superstitions\, fads\, thoughts\, issues etc. Media is therefore called a chronicler of present history. It is also a tool for the dominant class for their own end. Public attitude and public policy are influenced by the subjects of news coverage and the manner in which the news is covered. \nInterestingly\, those in the periphery of the society are also sidelined by mainstream media. The more they are obliviated\, the more they tend to disappear from the public eye and the less they matter. Marginalized sections in South Asian society like dalits\, tribals\, women\, physically disabled\, children\, rural people have the lesser role in mainstream media. \nIn South Asia the women\, children\, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes\, persons with disabilities\, migrants and aged are regarded as marginalised or vulnerable groups. These people are socially\, economically\, politically and legally ignored and excluded in the society. Marginalization refers to processes by which individuals or groups are kept or pushed beyond the edges of society. These marginalized individuals or groups are positioned as outsiders.\nThe idiom\, “out of sight\, out of mind” is very appropriate for the marginalized section of the society. When they do not come in news they are in the danger of being forgotten\, their problems and opinions sidelined and ignored. \nMedia is a catalyst for change. Some questions that come to the mind are: What are the changes brought out by the media in rural space? Is Media able to truly portray the problems of the rural masses? Are the issues related to female foeticide and sexual abuse\, and pay disparity getting adequate and consistent coverage? Are the Aged\, HIV positive\, mentally ill and differently able getting a voice and positive image in the media?

SUMMARY:National Conference On Recent Trends in Custom Power Supply
DESCRIPTION:(28th & 29th April\, 2018) \nOrganized by\nSchool of Electrical Engineering\, KIIT\, Deemed to be University\, Bhubaneswar (751024) \nin Collaboration with \nThe Institution of Engineers (India) 8 Gokhale road\, Kolkata\, (700020) \nObjective of the Conference\nFor a reliable power system\, the generation unit must produce adequate power to meet customer ” s demand\, transmission systems must transport bulk power over long distances without overloading or jeopardizing system stability and distribution systems must deliver electric power to each customer ” s premises from bulk power systems. Distribution system locates the end of power system and is connected to the customer directly\, so the power quality mainly depends on distribution system. The reason behind this is that the electrical distribution network failures account for about 90% of the average customer interruptions. The Quality of power is not available in customer site due to non linear load. In the earlier days\, the major focus for power system reliability was on generation and transmission only as these more capital cost is involved in these. In addition\, their insufficiency can cause widespread catastrophic  consequences for both society and its environment. But now a day‘s distribution systems have begun to receive more attention for reliability & quality assessment. Initially for the improvement of power quality or reliability of the system FACTS devices. But now a days more attention is on the distribution system for the improvement of power quality\, these devices are modified and known as custom power device (CPD). \nDownload BrochureApplication Form
