DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION 13th National HR Konclave\n\nThe Re-skilling Revolution: The Vector of Transformation\n\nThe HR Konclave is an annual convention\, organized by KIIT School of Management (KSOM) and attended by industry leaders from the HR world as well as academicians from prestigious institutes. \nThe 13th National HR Konclave will be held on the theme “The Re-skilling Revolution: The Vector of Transformation”. The Konclave will have a keynote session and two panel discussions in the first half. The first panel discussion will focus on “Reinventing HR Processes for Accelerating Change in the Post-Covid Era” – The accelerating pace of technological change is widening skill gaps\, making it mandatory to adapt and learn skills quickly. To survive and deliver on these strategic objectives\, all organizations will need to reskill and upskill most of their workforce over the coming years. The second panel discussion will focus on “The Rise of Augmented Intelligence and Hybrid Workplace” – Businesses have an insatiable appetite for augmented technologies. The ‘new normal’ is defined by an environment of hybrid working. Machine Learning and Human Learning will have to go together for hybrid working in the ‘new normal’. Therefore\, AI & Machine Learning have to co-exist. \nThe panel discussions shall be followed by innovative group coaching sessions termed ‘Synergistics’ with students. One of the critical compounds that is creating a concern globally is chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) for ozone layer depletion. CFCs contribute to the weakening of the ozone layer and slowly creating an alarming situation all over the world. DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION Chaos\, Complexity\, and Resilience: Business and Society in Pandemic Context: \n\nBusiness or social organisation has many intertwined aspects\, which constantly interact with each other\, raising the complexity of its dynamics. Additional aspects make systems more complex. Modelling a complex system is difficult due to dependencies\, spontaneity\, and adaptive behaviour. However\, such complex adaptive systems self-reorganise and become sustainable. Chaos is a close related concept\, indicating that a delta change in the initial conditions can bring out randomness\, even with deterministic laws. Thus\, with same underlying deterministic principles but with minor initial variation can bring out drastic change in outcomes. Interestingly however\, rational human beings intuitively try to avoid chaos and complexity to take decisions. The need for predictability\, simple rules or heuristics\, and generalisability govern decision-making. Though the chaos and complexity theories are interrelated and multi-disciplinary in nature\, we see much less application in business or social organisations. \nThe onset of Covid-19 pandemic has presented a unique social context for chaos and complexity. The healthcare\, family systems\, business organisation\, and social organisations are exposed to unprecedented level of chaos and complexity. It is also manifested in international relations\, research\, and supply chain among myriad others. The complex adaptive behaviours vis-à-vis the activities to bounce back from adversities could be observed from the perspectives of individual\, family\, business\, and other social institutions. As both theories indicate\, the status may not be exactly reversible. The pandemic context raises several interesting questions worth investigation. For example\, how the additional social distancing\, isolation\, and sanitising practices have influenced our behaviour in general? To what extent these changes are fundamental or persistent. Is the planning for business any different now? How the pandemic plan or response is going to get integrated? Given that the prediction of World Health Organisation (WHO) on increase in pandemic attacks\, what should be done? These changes due to pandemic are changes in paradigm or a just point in the continuum. This conference seeks to understand and extend the behaviour of business and social organisations in the light of chaos and complexity. \nVenue: The conference\, is proposed to be held in virtual mode as the global pandemic has proved to be unpredictable for movement of speakers and participant scholars during the second wave and with a prognosis of third wave coming. \n\n\nVisit Website

At some day\, the human civilization might be without its essential resources to survive and continue. These resources need to be optimally used and regenerated at the same rate as the rate of consumption or exhaustion. Not only the use of resources\, but also every activity\, practice\, technology\, and infrastructure has to be sustainable. Sustainability relates to equity. We can not have one without the other. Equity is about fairness among all. Inter generational equity i.e. a reasonable balance between satisfying our needs now and keeping and saving enough to provide for needs of the future generations is critical for sustainability. Furthermore\, for sustainability\, equity across forms of life such as humans and non-humans is as essential as equity across generations of human life. \nIn contemporary modern world\, with globalization\, digitalization\, advances in information\, technology and communication\, the whole world is moving towards becoming a global society. DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION The financial-system is the epicenter of all economic recessions in the past fifty years. However\, the current recession is different from all other. It was caused by a global pandemic and subsequent response from the governments and society. This has resulted the supply and demand shocks and contraction of economic activities. The national and international financial systems felt the effect of the crisis in a massive way. The governments and policy makers across the globe struggled to limit the fall-out from the pandemic through numerous fiscal and monetary policy measures. The loan default and increased risk-weighted assets depleted many banks’ capital. However\, the public-health responses and mitigating interventions reduced the extent of impact on the financial system. The Indian financial system is surprisingly resilient in the face of the pandemic contrary to the forecasted gloomy pictures. This may be because of quick recovery of business activities and well capitalized banks & financial institutions. The GDP growth of India was shrank by 7.3 percent in FY 2020-21 and expected to be recovering fast during FY 2021-22 to achieve 9-10 percent growth figures. \nThe pandemic is a learning experience and both devastating and empowering. It is devastating because it exposed the imperfection in the system; and empowering because it motivated people to innovate and move forward. All economies including India realized both the aspects and imbibed in designing policy measures. The imperative fiscal and monetary measures and intensified vaccination programmes have projected the global economy to grow at 4.7 percent in 2021 after a contraction of 4.3 percent in 2020. In India\, the extraordinary responses from the government and central bank have revitalized the economy and financial system from the distressing impact of the pandemic. Every difficulty opens opportunities; operational flexibility\, maintaining trust\, digital initiative and enterprising are the new normal that the disruption taught us. AMIT RANJAN\nASSISTANT PROFESSOR\, NCERT \nDr Amit Ranjan is a poet and writer. He’s been a recipient of Fulbright\, Inlaks\, and Endeavour Fellowships. His collection of poems ‘Find Me Leonard Cohen\, I’m Almost Thirty (2018) received good reviews. His upcoming works are a biography of John Lang\, another of Dara Shikoh\, and a collection of essays. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of English at NCERT. \nThe pun in ‘late’ here should be obvious. ‘Late Bollywood’ like ‘late capitalism ’ is the scourge of the single screen– that’ s to demonstrate modernity ’ s home tricks. But let’s pick the other meaning where Bollywood\, despite reveling in its newfound OTT mindless-abuse-and-sex genre\, faces the threat of becoming ‘late’ in that it has fed generations of people with the (b)romance of patriarchy. Films like Thappad\, Pink\, Lipstick Under My Burkha\, Saand Ki Aankh and more have stared back at the male gaze (of course problematically still theoretically) and have unleashed the possibility of throwing Amitabh Bachchan with Mard tattooed on his chest into the realm of improbable fantasy – that actually almost happens in “Mard ko Dard Nahi Hota” with a karate champion girl knocking all Mards out of the ring. Adaptation of technology\, improvement of skill matching to the need of the emerging market and cost-effectiveness in managing credit are continued to be the gray areas in rural areas.
