DESCRIPTION:About the Event \nKIIT Deemed to be University is set to host the prestigious FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 from 4th to 8th March 2026 at the KIIT–KISS Athletics Stadium\, Bhubaneswar. \nThis internationally sanctioned championship\, organised under the aegis of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and Volleyball World\, will bring together elite beach volleyball athletes from across the globe. Notably\, this will be the first time in India that a Beach Volleyball World Championship is being hosted inside a university campus. \nThe event marks a significant milestone in India’s growing presence in international sports and reinforces KIIT’s commitment to promoting world-class sporting excellence. \nEvent Highlights \n\nParticipation from 52 Countries\n82 International Teams\n164 Elite Athletes\nOver 306 Accredited Participants\nOlympic Gold Medallists in action\nGlobal live broadcast via Volleyball World TV\nInternational referees and FIVB officials in attendance\n\nCompetition Format \nThe championship will be conducted in multiple stages: \n\nQualification Tournament\nMain Draw – Pool Play\nRound of 16\nQuarter Finals\nSemi Finals\nBronze Medal Matches\nGold Medal Finals & Award Ceremony\nThe Finals will be held on 8 March 2026.

SUMMARY:Chess Mahakumbh International Conference Social & Educational Chess
DESCRIPTION:Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)\, Bhubaneswar\, will host the Chess Mahakumbh – International Conference on Social & Educational Chess from 14th to 16th January 2026 at its campus. The conference is being organised in association with the International Chess Federation (FIDE)* and the All India Chess Federation (AICF)\, marking a significant milestone for Indian chess and sports education. \nThis is the first time in India that such a large-scale global conference on social and educational chess is being hosted at a university campus. Eminent personalities from the world of chess\, including senior officials of FIDE and AICF\, grandmasters\, administrators\, educators\, and researchers\, will participate in the event. Chess experts and delegates from over 40 countries\, along with more than 80 delegates from India\, are expected to attend. The total number of participants will exceed 5\,200\, including 5\,000+ players from across India. \nDistinguished dignitaries scheduled to grace the occasion include Mr Arkady Dvorkovich\, President\, FIDE; Padma Vibhushan Shri Viswanathan Anand\, Deputy President\, FIDE and five-time World Chess Champion; Ms Dana Reizniece\, Deputy Chair\, FIDE; Mr Nitin Narang\, President\, AICF; Mr Dev A Patel\, Hon. Secretary\, AICF; and Mr Ranjan Mohanty\, Member\, FIDE Event Commission. \nThe conference will focus on the role of chess in education\, social development\, cognitive growth\, and inclusive learning\, reinforcing the growing global recognition of chess as a tool for character building and mental discipline. \nOver the years\, KIIT and KISS have consistently promoted sports as an integral part of education\, investing in world-class infrastructure\, structured training programmes\, and athlete support systems. From grassroots development to international representation\, students of KIIT and KISS have brought laurels to the institution and the country across multiple disciplines\, including volleyball\, rugby\, athletics\, chess\, and indigenous sports. \nHosting Chess Mahakumbh reflects KIIT’s sustained commitment to integrating sports\, education\, and social impact\, and its growing role as a hub for international sporting and academic collaboration.

DESCRIPTION:Khelo India University Games will witness over 4000 athletes from 100 Universities across India vying for top honours in 17 different disciplines namely archery\, athletics\, boxing\, fencing\, judo\, swimming\, weightlifting\, wrestling\, badminton\, basketball\, football\, hockey\, table tennis\, tennis\, volleyball\, rugby and kabaddi. \nKhelo India University Games is a part of the revamped national programme for the development of sports\, Khelo India.
