SUMMARY:International Conference on Management Research on Chaos\, Complexity\, and Resilience: Business and Society in Pandemic Context
DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION Chaos\, Complexity\, and Resilience: Business and Society in Pandemic Context: \n\nBusiness or social organisation has many intertwined aspects\, which constantly interact with each other\, raising the complexity of its dynamics. Additional aspects make systems more complex. Modelling a complex system is difficult due to dependencies\, spontaneity\, and adaptive behaviour. However\, such complex adaptive systems self-reorganise and become sustainable. Chaos is a close related concept\, indicating that a delta change in the initial conditions can bring out randomness\, even with deterministic laws. Thus\, with same underlying deterministic principles but with minor initial variation can bring out drastic change in outcomes. Interestingly however\, rational human beings intuitively try to avoid chaos and complexity to take decisions. The need for predictability\, simple rules or heuristics\, and generalisability govern decision-making. Though the chaos and complexity theories are interrelated and multi-disciplinary in nature\, we see much less application in business or social organisations. \nThe onset of Covid-19 pandemic has presented a unique social context for chaos and complexity. The healthcare\, family systems\, business organisation\, and social organisations are exposed to unprecedented level of chaos and complexity. It is also manifested in international relations\, research\, and supply chain among myriad others. The complex adaptive behaviours vis-à-vis the activities to bounce back from adversities could be observed from the perspectives of individual\, family\, business\, and other social institutions. As both theories indicate\, the status may not be exactly reversible. The pandemic context raises several interesting questions worth investigation. For example\, how the additional social distancing\, isolation\, and sanitising practices have influenced our behaviour in general? To what extent these changes are fundamental or persistent. Is the planning for business any different now? How the pandemic plan or response is going to get integrated? Given that the prediction of World Health Organisation (WHO) on increase in pandemic attacks\, what should be done? These changes due to pandemic are changes in paradigm or a just point in the continuum. This conference seeks to understand and extend the behaviour of business and social organisations in the light of chaos and complexity. \nVenue: The conference\, is proposed to be held in virtual mode as the global pandemic has proved to be unpredictable for movement of speakers and participant scholars during the second wave and with a prognosis of third wave coming. \n\n\nVisit Website

DESCRIPTION:Objective:\nKIIT International Model United Nations\, which was founded in 2013\, is one of the largest simulations of the United Nations across the globe\, coordinated by KIIT University. KIIT International MUN 2016\, being the largest MUN hosted across the globe with around 2500 delegates engaging themselves has helped us move forward with such strong reach ever since\, after which KIIT e-MUN was formed in the wake of the pandemic. KIIT E-MUN has collaborated with many organizations like Médecins Sans Frontières\, CURE International\, Heidelberg Model United Nations(HDMUN)\, and many other prestigious organizations. \nKIIT International MUN has been a stage for various comedians like Bishwa Kalyan Rath\, Kenny Sebastian\, Rahul Subramanian\, Abish Mathew\, and Gaurav Kapur\, the platform shared by the likes of Mr. Kamal Singh\, the Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network India\, Allen Gammel OBE\, Director of the British Council India\, Debanjan Chakrabarti – Director British Council\, East India\, and by a plethora of foreign diplomats and emissaries like Mr. Hector Cueva Jacome\, Ambassador of Ecuador in India; Mr. Fleming Raul Duarte Ramos\, Ambassador of Paraguay to India; Mr. Claudio Ansorena Montero\, Ambassador of Costa Rica to India and Mrs. Barbara Wickham\, Director of British Council in India\, political personalities like Akhilesh Yadav\, and other distinguished speakers and diplomats. \nThe enormous world is divided by its selfish interests and we strive to make it smaller\, uniting it in the process through participation from not just the renowned institutions and organizations in our nation\, but from countries and nations from every nook and corner of the world.\nWith a beautiful legacy\, KIIT International MUN looks forward to be organized with more devout enthusiasm and participation than ever before\, taking into account each success\, and looking out to ameliorate and uphold the very spirit of a united world. \nKIIT e-MUN:\nKIIT International Model United Nations is one of the largest simulacrum of the United Nations across the globe. It is one of the most remarkable organizations that had been established by the students of KIIT in 2013. Since its inception\, the syndicate has plans to set its aims a little higher to achieve the goal and indeed gains success every year in the events hosted. KIIT International MUN 2016 was the largest MUN hosted on the planet that was honoured by the participation of more than 2\,500 delegates. At KIIT International Model United Nations\, we bring in association from not only the eminent institutions and organizations of India but also from countries that span every corner of the world. \nThe simulation serves as a significant opportunity to socialize with delegates coming from different walks of life and learn the nuances of diplomacy.\nThe Executive Board Members of this grand organization serve as an emblem of leadership and dedication to the delegates that join us every year. Every year\, the consortium dedicates itself to holding a three-day event filled with vigorous discussions and debates along with tremendous research\, which helps us all achieve a better version of ourselves as human beings at the end of the conference. \nWith cultural performances\, stand-up comedies\, and networking dinners- KIIT International MUN does not just stress peace and promote diplomacy but also helps the individuals socialize through the large gathering\, helping them in uniting with other individuals of different cultures and geographical orientations. In the past two years\, the pandemic has changed our lives to an inexpressibly huge extent\, henceforth changing the meaning of adaptability. The pandemic has brought difficult times for us all\, posing a greater reason for us to gather and discuss on a platform\, and thus\, we brought the idea of e-MUN\, a solution to help ourselves move forward as we brave through these difficult times. The world is indeed recovering from such troubled times\, but till then\, stay safe\, and enjoy the conference in the comfort of your own homes. \nRegister Now

SUMMARY:2nd International Conference on Sustainability and Equity (ICSE-2021)
DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION 2nd International Conference on Sustainability and Equity (ICSE-2021) which will be held at KIIT Deemed to be University \,Bhubaneswar\, Odisha India \, from 17th- 18th December \, 2021\, jointly organised by World Leadership Academy and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University.\nIn contemporary modern world\, sustainability is a major concern for human being. Both history and literature indicate that human being has been doing activities those challenge its own existence survival\, and sustainability. Challenges such as climate change\, global warming\, resource scarcity\, increasing inequity\, social cleavages\, decreasing biodiversity and an ever increasing resource-rich lifestyle (Lorek & Fuchs\, 2011) have been challenging the human civilization’s sustainability. Sustainability can be explained as how natural systems function\, and produce everything that meet the needs of the current generation users without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs\, while keeping the system remain in balance. Sustainability takes into account how we need to live in synchronization with the natural world around us. In the contemporary world\, humanity uses about 40% more resources than nature can regenerate in a year (Global Footprint Network\, 2010). At some day\, the human civilization might be without its essential resources to survive and continue. These resources need to be optimally used and regenerated at the same rate as the rate of consumption or exhaustion. Not only the use of resources\, but also every activity\, practice\, technology\, and infrastructure has to be sustainable. Sustainability relates to equity. We can not have one without the other. Equity is about fairness among all. Inter generational equity i.e. a reasonable balance between satisfying our needs now and keeping and saving enough to provide for needs of the future generations is critical for sustainability. Furthermore\, for sustainability\, equity across forms of life such as humans and non-humans is as essential as equity across generations of human life. \nIn contemporary modern world\, with globalization\, digitalization\, advances in information\, technology and communication\, the whole world is moving towards becoming a global society. In such context\, increasing inequity\, social cleavages\, increasing intolerance\, poor resilience\, increasing nationalism\, eccentric governance have been challenging the sustainability of a global society. This conference aims to discuss the sustainability of human civilization with a focus on democracy\, citizenship behaviour\, and global society\, its challenges\, issues and possible way outs. \nICSE – 2021

DESCRIPTION:International Conference on Promoting Environmental Technologies for Waste Management and Sustainable Development (WMSD-2021) \n\n\n\nDate : 12th-13th December\, 2021 \nABOUT THE CONFERENCE\n\n\n\nEnvironmental and economic implications have compelled proper eco-friendly disposal of modern day wastes and also made it essential to come up with alternative waste management practices that reduce the environmental burden resulting from unwise waste disposal habits. Increasingly vigilant environmental regulators are imposing austere regulations for waste treatment prior to discharge coupled with escalation in the costs for direct disposal present two interrelated problems such as traditional practice of disposing waste loaded with pollutants need to be either discontinued or upgraded and incremental improvement in the waste management technologies\, which has always been a game of playing catch-up with the regulations\, have inflated infrastructure requirement and treatment cost significantly. Therefore\, rather than continuing slow evolution\, adaptation of a leapfrogging strategy could be more effective. Although a great deal of research in carried out in various academic and research institutions\, their practical applications is rather slow. Additionally\, proliferating global population coupled with high demand of commodities are depleting the natural resources in an alarming rate. Therefore\, there is an urgent need not only to develop suitable waste disposal strategy but also to augment the waste recycling technologies for resource recovery in a circular economy model. International Conference on Promoting Environmental Technologies for Waste Management and Sustainable Development (WMSD-2021) aims to bring together leading academicians\, scientists\, researchers\, industry experts and policy makers to exchange and share their experiences and on various aspects of Waste Management and Sustainable Development. SUMMARY:1st National Supply Chain Conclave on Emerging Trends Shaping Future Supply Chain Management
DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION Global supply chains are undergoing major transformations due to external pressure and technological trends including internal evolution. Companies are being pushed to re-evaluate existing networks in order to determine how their future supply chain will be formed in terms of capacity and responsibility. The repurposed and reshaped supply chains of the future will be characterized by both resilience and responsibility\, which can help communities manage the short-term crisis as well as enable businesses to build around their customers and help economies rebound. The fast pace of supply chain evolution is mainly attributed to the rapid technological advancements. To retain the integrity of one’s supply chain and ascertain that organization prospers; supply chain managers and company leaders need to be on top of these developments. Rather\, company should aim to anticipate the recent trends that will shape supply chain management in the future. These trends in supply chain and logistics are centred on the smart\, digital technology-driven solutions primarily aim to reduce the operating costs and increasing the overall efficiency. The digitsation of supply chain enables companies to address new requirements of logistics and customer fulfillment (i.e. bundling and omnichannel distribution) including challenges on the supply-side\, i.e. procurement and sourcing. Thus\, digital supply chain\, i.e. Supply Chain – 4.0 are much faster\, accurate\, flexible and efficient. This has also ushered requirements of new recruits as new jobs are constantly being created. \nThe present conclave has been designed to focus deliberations in all these above disruptions in supply chain and its effective management. The aim is to bring-together supply chain professionals and experts on a platform and brainstorm the important actors influencing the future supply chain models.\nscmkon \nTheme: Emerging Trends Shaping Future Supply Chain Management\nThe conclave will have a formal inauguration followed by discussions in two subsequent tracks. SUMMARY:12th National Finance Konclave on Resilience in Economic & Financial Systems: Lessons from Disruptive Changes
DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION The financial-system is the epicenter of all economic recessions in the past fifty years. However\, the current recession is different from all other. It was caused by a global pandemic and subsequent response from the governments and society. This has resulted the supply and demand shocks and contraction of economic activities. The national and international financial systems felt the effect of the crisis in a massive way. The governments and policy makers across the globe struggled to limit the fall-out from the pandemic through numerous fiscal and monetary policy measures. The loan default and increased risk-weighted assets depleted many banks’ capital. However\, the public-health responses and mitigating interventions reduced the extent of impact on the financial system. The Indian financial system is surprisingly resilient in the face of the pandemic contrary to the forecasted gloomy pictures. This may be because of quick recovery of business activities and well capitalized banks & financial institutions. The GDP growth of India was shrank by 7.3 percent in FY 2020-21 and expected to be recovering fast during FY 2021-22 to achieve 9-10 percent growth figures. \nThe pandemic is a learning experience and both devastating and empowering. It is devastating because it exposed the imperfection in the system; and empowering because it motivated people to innovate and move forward. All economies including India realized both the aspects and imbibed in designing policy measures. The imperative fiscal and monetary measures and intensified vaccination programmes have projected the global economy to grow at 4.7 percent in 2021 after a contraction of 4.3 percent in 2020. In India\, the extraordinary responses from the government and central bank have revitalized the economy and financial system from the distressing impact of the pandemic. Every difficulty opens opportunities; operational flexibility\, maintaining trust\, digital initiative and enterprising are the new normal that the disruption taught us. Under this background\, the 12th finance conclave endeavors to deliberate the Indian financial system buoyancy in the outbreak of pandemic and way forward. \nTheme: Resilience in Economic & Financial Systems: Lessons from Disruptive Changes\nThe conclave will have a formal inauguration followed by discussions in two subsequent tracks. Interactive student workshops would be conducted in the second half of the day. Undergraduate and Post Graduate student contests shall be run before the conclaves. \nVisit Website

SUMMARY:12th National Marketing Konclave on Human Face of Marketing in the Data Driven Era
DESCRIPTION:EVENT INTRODUCTION 12th National Marketing Konclave on Human Face of Marketing in the Data Driven Era\n\n“A clear purpose is everything to an organization. It is an organization’s soul and identity\, providing both a platform to build upon and a mirror to reflect its existence in the world. It articulates why an organization exists\, what problems it is here to solve\, and who it wants to be to each human it touches through its work. While it’s not the first time in history businesses are pondering why they exist and who they are to their customers. \n\nDeloitte Consulting LLP\, 2021\, Global Marketing Trends. \nThis present era is an era of bountiful data churned into information through analytics and whipped-out insight. Marketers need to soul-search whether these so-called marketing insights are befitting to the core value of marketing function as organizations are not exclusively created for its customer but with a broader purpose to serve mankind. As in most cases marketing research mines consumer data so the possibility of not looking at non-user data is very high. Invariably with this short-sightedness we lose the focus on human beings. Further\, marketers tend to forget the human side of the consumers in this touchless product and service delivery phase due to the pandemic control protocol. Bur marketers need to adopt this new reality and behave like a marketing-oriented organization full of human-like qualities. Business organizations must promote human-centric marketing approaches which treat consumers as real human beings\, not a reference number or consumer ID. \nThe concept of human-centric marketing which gained momentum during the global pandemic and restriction on human contact is a natural outgrowth of customer-centric marketing and product-centric marketing with the evolution of marketing from sales since the decade 1980 onwards. In human-centric marketing\, marketers approach customers as complete human beings with minds\, hearts\, and spirits. In human-centric marketing\, marketers fulfill not only customers’ functional and emotional needs but also address their latent anxieties and desires. In this era of artificial intelligence and robotics\, sometimes consumers are feared to lose their own identity. This deepest uncovered anxieties of consumers may be tapped well by adopting well-defined human-centric approaches touching their body\, mind\, and soul with well-articulated value propositions by human-to-human connection\, not a machine to human artificial interaction. \nMarketing Konclave
