SUMMARY:KIIT INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2019
DESCRIPTION:ObjectiveKIIT International Model United Nations is one of the largest simulations of United Nations across the globe\, organized by KIIT University. Since its inception in 2013\, the event has been setting the benchmark a little higher with every edition. KIIT International MUN 2016 was the largest MUN hosted in the world with a total participation of around 2\,500 delegates. At KIIT International Model United Nations\, we bring in participation from not just the renowned institutions and organizations of India\, but also from countries that span every corner of the world. \nIt serves as a great opportunity to socialize with delegates coming from different walks of life and learn the nuances of diplomacy and leadership from a meticulously curated array of Executive Board Members who are simply the best. Vigorous debates and tremendous research are what constitute the three-day event\, along with something to look forward to at the end of each day. \nWith cultural performances\, stand-up comedy\, and networking dinners- KIIT International MUN does not just stress on peace and promote diplomacy but also holds up the socialization aspect from an individual’s point of view. \nKIIT INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATIONSKIIT International MUN has hosted a chain of successful editions since its maiden conference in 2013. Establishing the stronghold in its maiden year itself\, KIITMUN was able to uphold the calibre of its diplomats and its commitment to making an impact\, and since then the event has been setting the benchmark a little higher with every edition. The anticipation keeps escalating each year – starting with a few participants in 2013 to 2\,500 in 2016 to over 2000 in 2018 – we have come a long way since. Our enormous world is divided by its selfish interests and we strive to make it smaller and united by bringing in participation from not just the renowned institutions and organizations of our nation\, but from countries that span every corner of the world. \nIn its previous editions\, KIIT International MUN had been graced by eminent personalities from all walks of life. It has been a stage for veteran comedians like Biswa Kalyan Rath and Kenny Sebastian\, shared at the same time by the likes of Mr. Kamal Singh\, the Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network India; Allen Gammel OBE\, Director of the British Council India; Padma Bhushan Mr. Rajat Sharma; Mr. Suhel Seth\, distinguished Speaker and Actor; Mr. Akhilesh Yadav\, Former Chief Minister\, Uttar Pradesh; Debanjan Chakrabarti – Director British Council\, East India; Mr. Punya Prasun Bajpai\, the news anchor and executive editor at Aaj Tak. Since its first edition\, the popularity and significance of the conference have grown exponentially; hosting eminent personalities to conducting resourceful working shops\, inclemently deliberating about global concerns for an entire day with representatives of other nations and dancing\, singing and celebrating with the same people at the end of the day. \nKIIT International Model UN has successfully catered to diplomacy and merriment of the participants alike and has played such a pivotal role in bringing about a revolution in the Model United Nations circuit that the dilemmas that were dissected into by these young delegates seemed a bit more surmountable. \nKnow More

SUMMARY:10th National Marketing Conclave on Delivering Customer Value Proposition through Marketing Analytics
DESCRIPTION:Overview of Theme: \nToday’s consumer landscape and the larger global market are increasingly diverse. With prospects spread across various socioeconomic\, geographic\, and ethnic areas\, understanding these differences is critical to successfully reaching your targeted customer in a meaningful way. However\, recognizing these differences to fine tune your offerings is the call of the day. \nWith more and more information flooding consumers every hour of the day\, your customers are growing less tolerant of brands who misunderstand their needs and wants. When paired with the diversity of consumer set\, understanding unique consumer needs is even more challenging. \nAll customers are not alike. Focusing on these consumers at the individual level allows you to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the market and those you’re trying to target. This approach also helps you assess the value you provide to the customer rather than simply assessing the value of the consumer. \nMarketing analytics is fundamentally changing both business and consumer marketing across the customer life cycle. It is transforming the focus from products and channels to a focus on the customer. Marketing analytics is used to improve strategies to acquire new customers\, to grow customer lifetime value\, and to retain more customers over time. \nAbout the Conclave\nThe Marketing Conclave is an annual convention\, organised by KIIT School of Management (KSOM)\, and attended by industry leaders from the marketing world as well as academicians from prestigious institutes. \nVisit Website

SUMMARY:South Asia Communication Conference on Media Portrayal of the Marginalised Communities
DESCRIPTION:Media is a mirror to society and a representation of reality i.e. it is recreation of the real world. In Newspapers\, Magazines\, Radio\, Television\, Online\, Films\, Advertisements etc. the society is reflected. This media portrayal shows the different facets of society like social mores\, norms\, culture\, superstitions\, fads\, thoughts\, issues etc. Media is therefore called a chronicler of present history. It is also a tool for the dominant class for their own end. Public attitude and public policy are influenced by the subjects of news coverage and the manner in which the news is covered. \nInterestingly\, those in the periphery of the society are also sidelined by mainstream media. The more they are obliviated\, the more they tend to disappear from the public eye and the less they matter. Marginalized sections in South Asian society like dalits\, tribals\, women\, physically disabled\, children\, rural people have the lesser role in mainstream media. \nIn South Asia the women\, children\, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes\, persons with disabilities\, migrants and aged are regarded as marginalised or vulnerable groups. These people are socially\, economically\, politically and legally ignored and excluded in the society. Marginalization refers to processes by which individuals or groups are kept or pushed beyond the edges of society. These marginalized individuals or groups are positioned as outsiders.\nThe idiom\, “out of sight\, out of mind” is very appropriate for the marginalized section of the society. When they do not come in news they are in the danger of being forgotten\, their problems and opinions sidelined and ignored. \nMedia is a catalyst for change. Some questions that come to the mind are: What are the changes brought out by the media in rural space? Is Media able to truly portray the problems of the rural masses? Are the issues related to female foeticide and sexual abuse\, and pay disparity getting adequate and consistent coverage? Are the Aged\, HIV positive\, mentally ill and differently able getting a voice and positive image in the media?
