The societal expectations from S&T are increasing with rapid advances in Science and Technology. These expectations impose upon the scientific community the responsibility of fulfilling multifarious societal needs. To make Indian science and technology more noticeable, involvement of Institutions of higher education is required thereby motivating young minds to contribute to challenging areas requiring advanced research.

Society has received immense benefit from the scientific discoveries which has reached the common man through a form of technology. A new technology which has impacted the society has very strong science backbone. Today, India needs to strengthen its scientific knowledge for development of relevant technologies which can be catered to the common masses.
