About the Conference
Heat Treatment is a critical operation in the fabrication industry. Right from raw materials, forming of sub components, final machining and welding operations, heat treatment is required in most of the cases to achieve desired properties, restore original properties and relieving stresses. Since high temperature is involved the right choice of heat treatment method, heat treatment cycle, operation sequence, loading and unloading in/from furnace, supports and fixtures to allow expansion and contraction and prevent distortion are critical parameters to define.
This session will discuss and provide an overview of heat treatment objectives, various methods of heat treatment, metallurgical effects; ASME codes requirements to meet construction code requirements, various equipments and instruments to conduct heat treatment, precautions to be taken for conducting successful heat treatment without any deviation and failure.
