The University is committed to ensuring disability does not provide a barrier to existing and prospective student & staff, we have clear disability policy for accessibility to our physical environment, admissions, recruiters advantage, support to differently able staff & student. KIIT has always been committed to providing an inclusive academic and working environment for one and all. As part of this commitment, access to a wide range of support services are provided to them for helping them succeed with their studies / duties, day-to-day activities, work, travel, and lifestyle. Equal opportunity on the basis of qualification and experience is provided to differently abled staff to perform the genuine and reasonable requirements of their role by making appropriate and reasonable adjustments to the staff member’s workplace.
Information Center for Disability People: “May I help you desk” specially for has been working or pursuing courses in all campuses to facilitate the people with disabilities. Along with information center, various facilities and information can be accessed by online mode. Students/staffs/general public can get the various services by fill-up the details requirement in online mode.
Student Society “Karma”: The student society ‘Karma’ for the differently able persons is functioning in the campus with a aim to perceive, build and conceive what the world normally cannot. The team of Karma strives to make a difference in the lives of the widely secluded section of the society by generating and promoting proficiency in certain genres, enabling them to be self- sustained.
KIIT follows an institutional Policy for Differently Abled 2020- Policy for Differently Abled 2020 – KIIT Deemed to be University in line with the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (Government of India) to ensure equal access to education, infrastructure, and opportunities. KIIT campus transportation services provide assistance for students and staff with disabilities to facilitate movement between different campuses and academic buildings.
In case of medical emergencies, students and staff can access immediate healthcare support through Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS)– a 24×7 hospital located within the KIIT campus.
