Smoke-Free and Tobacco-Free policy
- This policy applies to all the students, research scholars, staff members of the University and visitors.
- The Purpose of the policy is to provide smoke free atmosphere and ambience to all stakeholders.
- Smoking is not permitted in any campus across the University including hostels nor the use any type of nicotine products.
- Consumption/ possession of alcohol, smoking or use of tobacco, narcotic drugs, possession of lethal weapons or inflammable materials and the related products.
- Members are expected to take steps to ensure the policy is made aware to the visitors and complied with. Steps may include requesting a visitor not to smoke, or asking a visitor to leave any campus or facility should they wish to smoke.
- Joint Registrar (Administration) is responsible for monitoring compliance with this policy, reporting the breaches and providing solutions.
- Any breaches by the student and staff member may result in disciplinary action under the requisite University Code of Conduct.
- No Smoking signage to be installed across the campuses of the University.
- Awareness programmes on Smoking and its adverse effects to be conducted on a regular basis.
